Un-Becoming Retreats
Frequently Asked Questions
Now that we have a few retreats under our proverbial belts, we've noticed there are a few questions that come up for women who attend. We've created this area to share answers to questions we've gotten more than once. If you don't see the answer to your question below,
please email us using info@EboniTruss.com with your question.
Will I have my own room?
That depends on the retreat venue. For those venues that can accommodate single rooms, that option will be offered to you at or within 45 days of registration. Please note that single rooms will require an additional registration fee and will be filled on a first come, first paid basis. If the venue does not accommodate single room occupancy, all rooms will be shared. If you have specific needs for your room, please let us know, and we will do our best to assist with those needs. All requests are considered. However, we cannot make guarantees.
May I choose my roommates?
No. We intentionally encourage mixing attendees up to allow you to meet and grow with new friends and sisters in Christ.
May I bring my teenage daughter or niece?
Yes! Daughters/nieces ages 13 and older are welcome to join you at an Un-Becoming Retreat. We believe that they should also experience encounters with God. In order for her to join you at the retreat, you will need to register her so that her space can be reserved. Please complete a separate registration using her name.
Is my registration refundable?
All registrations are non-refundable, regardless of circumstances, including but not limited to: weather, natural disaster, acts of terrorism, flight delays or cancellation, health conditions; medical,
personal, family, work emergencies; change of mind.
Are my travel expenses included in the cost?
No. Retreat registration does not include airfare or ground transportation. Retreat registration also does not include Saturday night's meal that we will have at a local restaurant.
What does a shared room look like?
This varies based on the retreat venue. The rooms can range from double, triple, or quad occupancy and could potentially mean sleeping in a bunked room. Rest assured, any bunks used will be full-sized or larger.
May I bring my baby/toddler?
No, while we love babies, we do not allow children/nursing infants. Un-Becoming retreats are designed to create an environment where you are able to fully engage with the Lord without distraction and we want to do everything we can to foster that environment for you.
Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
We can, to a certain degree, accommodate some minor food allergies and vegan/vegetarian diets. Please fill in the appropriate section of your registration form so we are aware of your needs prior to the retreat. Unfortunately, without prior notice, accommodations cannot be made once you arrive at the retreat. Attendees with extreme dietary needs may bring their own food.
What happens if the retreat is canceled?
It is our heart to never cancel a retreat and we will do our best to move the retreat to a future date. However, in the unlikely event that a retreat is canceled, attendees will have the option to transfer registration to a future retreat.
May I stay at the venue before the retreat begins/after it's over?
You are incredibly special to God and to us and we are SUPER excited that you may be planning to join us! As such, we want to prepare the space with all the surprises and special "odds and ends" that will be just for you. By the same token, we will need time and space to debrief and clean up after the event is over. As such, we ask that you arrive on Thursday and plan to leave on Sunday. If you opt to attend the bonus VIP day, you can plan to depart Monday afternoon/evening.
Hi,
I'm Dr. Eboni L!
I'm the founder of the Un-Becoming Movement where I equip individuals like you to re-discover what they were born to say and do so that they show up in the world purposefully, powerfully, and productively.
I'm from Detroit, though now I live in Alabama with my husband, our two sons, and our dog. I have always been entrepreneurial - starting with a lemonade stand when I was 6 years old - and have been in the speaking, training, and personal development space since 2010.
But it was a literal word from the Lord that led me to this lifestyle of process that is un-becoming and since 2020, Un-Becoming has been my mission, my message, and my mantle...
I am anointed to facilitate God encounters. Part of what that means is that I create experiences (i.e. the ones on this very page!) where I introduce the un-becoming process - the same one that helped me to rediscover my purpose. I am called to teach others who, like you, want to be authentic, get closer to God, and live on purpose. And I want to equip you to achieve that in a way that is engaging, effective, and inviting but without the confusion, fear, and overwhelm that often tries to creep in.
I also firmly believe that personal and supernatural experiences with God shouldn't be a hope or a dream; they should be an expectation! I want to help that expectation become a reality for you and for others, too!
We have room for only 12 registrants at the ABIDE Retreat, so you can expect an intimate and safe atmosphere.
